Ingredients :

Dough :

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of instant yeast
  • Salt for your choice
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • warm water

Filling :

  • One Kg ground pork
  • Half a cup of chopped onion
  • Half a cup of chopped cabbage

Spices :

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of oyster sauce (optional)
  • Salt and pepper of your choice

Cooking Instructions :

  • To prepare pork bola bola siopao, begin by making the dough. Knead a mixture of yeast, salt, and sugar with warm water thoroughly. Work the dough well for approximately 10 minutes, then allow it to rest for an hour to rise.
  • While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a separate bowl, combine a variety of vegetables, including onion, cabbage, capsicum, garlic, and boiled egg. Add soy sauce to enhance the flavor of the filling.
  • Once the dough has risen, it’s time to shape the siopao. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll each piece into a ball, then flatten them. Place a portion of the vegetable mixture on top of each flattened piece, fold it over, and seal it to form a bun.
  • Next, steam the buns in a steamer for about 15 to 20 minutes. They should become well-cooked, with a brown top and a white underside.
  • Your pork bola bola siopao is now ready to be served. It pairs well with ketchup, mayonnaise, or other sauces for added flavor.
